Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses has released the title tune from his upcoming third solo album, Lighthouse.
If you’re looking for a rock album with some legendary guests, you’ll love Duff McKagan’s new solo project. He teamed up with Iggy Pop, Slash, Jerry Cantrell and more for his 11-track LP. McKagan and Pop have a history together, as McKagan played on Pop’s album and joined him on tour.
McKagan remarked of the album and its core subject, “The crashing…. the cresting waves, the falling through of all that surrounds you.” Life sometimes throws us around, and we need warmth and the draw of home. A ship thrashed around like a toy through the Cape, sails shredded and the timbers moaning from the scrape of its ballast…. a soul struggling with all its effort to find serenity and a center.”
“Find a lighthouse,” he said. I have my lighthouse…. her warmth and promise of care, love, laughter, and everything that is genuine whirling in the darkness. Will you not be my lighthouse, giving me light… and bringing me home?”
‘Lighthouse’ will be released on October 20. Check out the entire tracklist below and pre-order the album here.
